Bobby Carr
Coach Bobby Carr, became the head coach of the Edgewood Academy Wildcats in 2001 and reeled off a record of 162-25 including 102-4 from 2008-2015. His Wildcats also won seven of eight AISA-AA state championships with a playoff record of 23-1.
The Wildcats entered the 2016 season riding a seventy-one game winning streak, the longest in the state. The Wildcats also set an AISA state record by scoring a total of 751 points in 2014. Carr also coached the Edgewood baseball team in his spare time. His baseball teams won five state championships.
He was named Coach of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers in 2010. Prior to coming to Edgewood he served as the head football coach at New Life Academy where his teams excelled in 8-man football.
In the summer of 2016 coach Carr stepped down as the head football and baseball coach at Edgewood Academy.
Carr took over the head coaching duties at Autauga Academy in 2017 and promptly took the team to the state finals before falling. In 2018 and 2021, Autauga Academy won AA state championships. Those are the 8th and 9th title in the AISA for Coach Carr.

The first night game played between high school teams in the state occurred on September 23, 1927 when Pike Road and Cloverdale met in the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
